NSA Codebreaker Challenge
Annual cryptanalysis, reverse engineering, cybersecurity challenge held each fall and open to participants from any U.S. based academic institution. Codebreaker is an individual challenge; no teaming or collaborating with peers. Participants can showcase their skills in the challenge, as well as learn new skills by attending technical talks/demos given by NSA subject matter experts on the technologies used. Students (at any level), Professors, and alumni are eligible to participate, although only students will accrue points for their school and earn individual rewards. Challenge awards are mailed to high performers and solvers, and top performing school earns as in-person trophy celebration.
Rowdy Datathon
Annual NSA Data Science Challenge open to students attending any college or university. Event is hosted at the University of Texas, San Antonio (UTSA) each fall. In person competition and held over Sat/Sun. NSA covers sponsorship, collaborates on the challenge problem, and provides technical mentors, workshops, and judging. Challenge outcome is incorporated in to curriculum. No cost for student participation and participants do not need experience in data science. All majors welcome.

Hacklytics is a 36-hour data science focused hackathon hosted by Data Science at GT, the largest data science club at Georgia Tech. Each year, hackers across the world join in creating innovative data-driven solutions to real problems. Event is held both in person and virtual at no cost to participants. Beginners are ecnouraged to participate to expand their knowledge and plenty of skill building workshops and mentors are available to assist.
