This interactive lessons explains Kerberos, a network authentication protocol that uses encryption to provide authentication for client-server applications. The process requires a Key Distribution Center (KDC), a third party that both the client and service trust. Kerberos uses a combination of access tickets and private key encryption to prove the client's identity to the server and prove the server's identity to the client.
